Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix showed a flair for athletics before she realized her ability to sprint when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She was then accepted into University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. The first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by running 200m in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she became the youngest 200-meter world champion in the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 defeating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a participant in her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three places in all her competitions.
