Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island, just before her last year of junior high school. Her siblings include two younger ones and a brother who is older. At the age of 9 till 16, she started working in the entertainment business via modelling. Her acting career began with The Neighborhood Playhouse, New York. She studied Sanford Meisner's methods alongside Ron Stetson for three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among the other actors that received this training. Her first acting role came with Beverly Hills 90210. This led to her relocating to Los Angeles. After being offered the lead part on Johnny Mnemonic where she did all of the stunts herself, she positioned herself as an actress athletic. The talent agent she worked with was also representing Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able secure a role in the show Friends.
